an eight-week mindfulness e-course for beginners

Mindfulness is our ability to attend to the present moment, with curiosity and without judgment. It is a life-skill that promotes well-being, concentration, resilience, and empathy.

Brilliant!

 (By the way, this new endeavor is also informed by research — a 2015 study from Oregon Health and Science University finds that a majority of adults prefer to learn mindfulness online, compared to in-person classes or one-on-one instruction.)

What does the class include?

mindfulness instruction. community. guided meditations. journaling prompts. weekly videos.

  • Detailed instructions and guidance for establishing a personal mindfulness practice.
  • Daily lessons (Monday-Friday) for six weeks — the course content is a combination of written material, instructional videos, pdf downloads, and audio files with guided meditations. [Weeks 4 and 8 are implementation weeks — no new content, but lots of time to ask questions and deepen your practice].
  • 2 guided meditations from me (audio files) each weekthat’s 12 in all! The meditations will range from 5 minutes to 25 minutes in length, providing you with lots of options for your practice. Some days, all we have time for is 5 minutes, and that’s okay! (almost three hours of guided meditations)
  • Instructional videos, including “How to Sit,” “Mindful Eating,” and “Mindful Walking” — over 90 minutes of video instruction!
  • Online comments sections for each lesson. Share your insights, challenges, celebrations, or frustrations, and ask questions! You can choose how involved you would like to be in our community — some people LOVE engaging in online discussions and forge meaningful connections with others, others prefer to go through the lessons on their own and observe the discussions. It’s up to you!
  • Access to a private Facebook group for course participants where you can ask questions, reflect on your experiences, and connect with like-minded people. (Optional)
  • Weekly Q&A videos — during the week you can submit questions to me (via the course comments section), and I will post a video at the end of each week addressing participants’ questions.
  • When you complete the course, you will receive a 150-page pdf of all the course content — so you have 8 weeks + the rest of your life to cultivate mindfulness!
